Yoga at Shamballa

Our Mission at Shamballa is to provide services to individuals and groups that help connect people to the light, joy, and possibility of spirit in physical form. The shared life force energy that connects us all is energized and strengthened through mind, body, spirit practices.

The word 'Yoga' is derived from the Sanskrit root 'Yuj', meaning 'to join' or 'to yoke' or 'to unite'. As per Yogic scriptures the practice of Yoga leads to the union of individual consciousness with that of the Universal Consciousness, indicating a perfect harmony between the mind and body, Man & Nature.

We are thrilled to invite you to Join us in connection and sharing of Universal Light.

Meet Our Yoga Leaders

Abby is a 200hr certified Kripalu yoga teacher, JourneyDance facilitator, and Master's student in Expressive Dance/Movement Therapy. Abby’s classes offer a holistic blend of pranayama (breathing exercises), asana (physical postures), visualizations, and expressive movement. Expect to both warm and strengthen the body, as well as stretch and relax.

Abby encourages students to honor their own personal body wisdom, so variations and multiple expressions of poses are offered and encouraged. Abby is passionate about the transformative power of yoga to facilitate embodiment, introspection, and self-compassion.

Abby is excited to share the joy that comes with moving our bodies on Saturday mornings at Shamballa Healing Center’s light filled Healing Center.

Wednesday Evenings with Izzy

Izzy is a yoga teacher living in Woods Hole, MA with her rambunctious dog, Lilli. Since completing her 200-hour yoga teacher training at Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in 2019, she has been teaching people of all ages and abilities, in-person and online. Her classes typically include centering, pranayama, warm-ups, asana, and relaxation to connect and balance mind, body, and spirit.

Izzy brings a gentleness and openness to her classes and encourages her students to be curious and make the practice their own. Off the mat, Izzy enjoys writing, singing, and playing guitar.
